Today we have another episode of La Buhardilla Legal, in this case we will talk about the bank moratorium.

What is a bank moratorium? It is an extension of time that allows deferring the payment of installments of loans and other contracts of certain people.

Royal Decree-Law 26/2020, of July 7, on economic reactivation measures to address the impact of COVID-19 in the areas of transport and housing, introduces certain amendments to Royal Decree-Law 8/2020, of March 17, and Royal Decree-Law 11/2020, of March 31, as regards the deadlines to apply for the moratoriums of the loans regulated therein, and extends the deadlines to apply for the moratorium on mortgage loans for the habitual residence and for real estate used for the activity, as well as for loans without mortgage guarantee, until September 29, 2020.
